# Community Access

Depending on a community’s setup and requirements, BurkhardtCAD supports two different types of access. Each access type is designed to give communities flexibility and control over how members join, interact with, and use their CAD system.

Both access types have their own entry process and work slightly differently, allowing each community to choose the option that best fits their structure. Whether a community wants a simple approval process or a more controlled application-based system, BurkhardtCAD provides the tools needed to manage access efficiently.

This flexibility helps communities create an experience that works best for their staff, members, and overall operations while keeping everything organized, secure, and easy to manage.

#### **Manual Approval**

If a community has set their BurkhardtCAD instance to Manual Approval, this means they do not require users to complete an application before joining. Instead, users will be directed to the Manual Approval page, where they can submit an approval request by clicking the **Request Approval** button.

Once an approval request is submitted, our bot will notify the community’s staff team through direct message. This message includes a link to the user’s account, making it easy for staff members to review the request without having to search manually. Once the staff team is satisfied, they can update the user’s member status and grant them access to the community.

#### **Full Whitelist**

If a community has set their BurkhardtCAD instance to Full Whitelist, this means the community requires users to complete an application before joining. Users will be directed to the recruitment page, where they can view all currently available applications and apply for the positions or departments that are open.

From the recruitment page, users can also view their previously submitted applications and track their progress. Once an application is submitted, and if the community has notifications enabled, the staff team will receive a direct message from our bot. This message includes links to both the submitted application and the user’s account, allowing staff members to review everything quickly and efficiently.
